Dorset Council Dog Related Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) 2024
With effect from 1st January 2024 to 31st December 2026, a new Order came into force regarding the control of dogs on public land. The intention of the Order is to keep public open spaces enjoyable for all and free from dog faeces. The previous order only included land owned by Dorset Council whereas this latest Order includes all land owned by Parish and Town Councils (unless they chose to opt out during the consultation).

Gallows Drive road closure update
Wessex Water have notified us of an update to the urgent closure of Gallows Drive, between Christchurch Road and Oak Close, to repair a collapsed sewer.
The works are expected to start on the 27th February and be completed on the 29th February.

For Cammel Road and Meadow Close, no vehicle access between 7.30am - 4pm, from 29th February 2024, anticipated completion by 8th March 2024.
Please note that the notice will remain in force for 18 months

Urgent closure of Gallows Drive
Urgent Notification: Wessex Water have notified us of an urgent closure on Gallows Drive, West Parley to allow surveying of sewer to locate collapse.
The works are expected to be completed by 05-02-2024.

Dorset Council's Get Active Outdoors 2024 - Guide out now!
January sees the release of the new Get Active Outdoors brochure, which aims to support local people to get and stay active through a range of entry level activities, delivered in Dorset’s beautiful green spaces.
Nordic Walking, Get into Golf and Fresh Air Fitness for beginners are just some of the instructor led courses available, alongside group led Couch to 5K, Orienteering tasters, Health Walks and Health Cycle Rides.

Dorset Council offers parents a free reusable nappy starter pack or £30 off reusable nappies (minimum spend £45).
Apply before 31 March 2024 and you could also win one of two reusable nappy sets worth £80 each in our prize draw! So if you know anyone in the Dorset Council area who would be eligible to apply, please let them know.

Chris Packham Promotes Writing Competition for Schools
A message from Dorset Goes WILD:

Report a crime online to avoid a lenthgy phone wait
Dorset Police were invited to attend the Parish Council December meeting.
Mitigation measures were discussed and agreed to combat the antisocial driving in the Parish Council's car park.
