This Local business just over the border in Parley, helps the County to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill and turn it into reuseable fuel or products. There is currently a consultation open for comment on the Energy Recovery Facility proposals and we encourage residents to read the information available and comment if they feel so inclined. . . please see ECO website for more information and consultation questionnaire.
The consultation details ECO’s plans to make alterations to and expand the recycling production at the site. This will inevitably result in an increase in large vehicles to and from the site, as it expands. The site in general will be slightly remodelled to make the processes more efficient but there will also be the construction of a large new building which has a tall metre wide chimney the height of an average pylon. This is smaller than usual due to the proximity of Bournemouth Airport.
This is a consultation undertaken by Eco prior to any Planning Applications, and all responses are sent to them. The Consultation closes on Wednesday 25th November 2020.
The Government has written a very lengthy White Paper on proposed changes to the planning process, the consultation for which ended yesterday.

The Parish Council has submitted it's response and felt it important to share with residents. We continue to work actively for residents and the Parish, despite no physical meetings taking place during Covid-19.
At the October virtual meeting of the Parish Council, we welcomed not 1 but 2 new Councillors to the Parish Council.
Lynn Price, who is an experienced Councillor and held many positions within Bournemouth Borough Council, and Tom Wilson, who has a wealth of experience in education and is known to many in West Parley already due his involvement with Parley Petanque. It is always good to have new Members join the Council to bring different perspectives, suggestions and experience.
There is still one Vacancy remaining, should anyone wish to get more involved on your doorstep and join the Parish Council. Please email the Clerk on enquiries@westparley-pc.gov.uk
